How the sliding tracks work
Leave Sadness a connected entrance and a route through every white dot without forcing it to turn back. You do not need to connect every spare track tile: an unused piece can sit outside the working route.
The layouts below show target tracks, not a universal sequence of directional button presses from any starting board.
- R counts rows from top to bottom; C counts columns from left to right.
- Count within the active track rectangle, excluding the surrounding wall.
- ● marks a white dot.
- Arrows show Sadness’s movement, not the direction to slide a tile.
- Look for the blue light moving along the track, dots going dark, and the next memory or path opening. Black lines that merely look connected are not enough.
First visit: three walls
Cross the bridge on the right and speak to Sadness. When a story barrier stops you, leave and ask Ghaldari about it, then pursue the real-world contacts connected to Estelle.
Wall 1 — two columns, three rows
Move the vertical track from the bottom right up one space, then left one space, between the fixed upper and lower pieces in the left column.
Left entrance → R3C1 ↑ R2C1 ↑ R1C1●
Wall 2 — two columns, three rows
The two middle bends connect right/down on the left and left/down on the right:
Bottom-right entrance → R3C2 ↑ R2C2 ← R2C1 ↓ R3C1●
The extra track in the upper-right corner does not need to join this route.
Wall 3 — three columns, three rows
Place the horizontal track between the two bottom-row dots:
Bottom-left entrance → R3C1● → R3C2 → R3C3●
Keep the bottom route intact rather than dismantling it to join the spare pieces above.
Second visit: three walls
Estelle’s real-world story includes an office meeting, a meal, and an invitation to bake at her home after meeting at Bouquinistes. Follow the messages and appointments; these visits are progression cues rather than fixed calendar dates.
At this visit’s story barrier, choose the idea that she does not like her current job.
Wall 1 — four columns, three rows
Bottom-right entrance → R3C4 ← R3C3 ↑ R2C3 → R2C4●
↑ R1C4 ← R1C3 ← R1C2 ← R1C1●
The middle two spaces of the top row are horizontal. The top-right bend connects left/down. R2C3 connects right/down, while R3C3 connects up/right.
Wall 2 — four columns, three rows
Bottom-left entrance → R3C1 ↑ R2C1 → R2C2 ↑ R1C2
→ R1C3 → R1C4● ↓ R2C4 ↓ R3C4● ← R3C3 ← R3C2●
Use the route as the target. If your board matches the arrangement where the left/up bend is at R1C2, the right/down bend is at R1C3, and the horizontal tile is at R2C3, the corresponding three moves are:
- Move the R1C2 bend down to R2C2.
- Move the R1C3 bend left to R1C2.
- Move the R2C3 horizontal track up to R1C3.
Check the tile shapes and empty spaces first; those three moves are not a starting sequence for every board state.
Wall 3 — four columns, three rows
Bottom-right entrance → R3C4 ↑ R2C4 ← R2C3 ↑ R1C3
← R1C2 ← R1C1● ↓ R2C1 → R2C2 ↓ R3C2 ← R3C1●
Leave R1C4 and R3C3 empty.
Pass the two water streams
Use the same block to stop the first stream, pass it, then move the block in front of the second stream and cross that one.
Third visit: two walls
Use tall blocks to break Torment’s line of sight. Wait until it looks away before crossing exposed ground.
After the photograph of Estelle’s grandmother, the barrier’s idea is that Estelle is happier making pastries.
Wall 1 — five columns, three rows
Bottom-left entrance → R3C1● → R3C2 → R3C3 → R3C4
↑ R2C4● ↑ R1C4 → R1C5● ↓ R2C5●
The bottom horizontal run reaches the vertical track near the right. The upper bend at R1C4 connects right/down.
Wall 2 — five columns, four rows
Bottom-right entrance → R4C5 ↑ R3C5 ↑ R2C5 ← R2C4
← R2C3● ↓ R3C3 ← R3C2● ↑ R2C2 ← R2C1●
R3C3 needs an up/left bend. This lets Sadness travel down from the upper dot, cross to the middle dot, and return upwards before reaching the leftmost dot. Joining only the two upper dots misses part of the route. Spare bends can remain in the top row.
Final visit: both wall layouts
Keep using cover against moving hazards. A shattered-track animation alone is not a reliable way to decide that you failed; check whether the dots were completed and whether the next path opened.
Wall 1 — three columns, three rows
Make an upside-down U using both side columns and the top centre:
Bottom-right entrance → R3C3 ↑ R2C3 ↑ R1C3●
← R1C2 ← R1C1 ↓ R2C1 ↓ R3C1●
Wall 2 — the final five movable tracks
For this last layout, count C1 as the fixed entrance column on the lower left and C4 as the fixed dot column on the right. R1 is the upper dot’s row; R3 is the lower dot’s row. Ignore the outer empty wall spaces.
| Row | C1: entrance column | C2 | C3 | C4: dot column |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| R1 | Empty | Empty | Right/down bend | Upper dot ● |
| R2 | Empty | Right/down bend | Left/up bend | Vertical track |
| R3 | Fixed horizontal entrance | Left/up bend | Empty | Lower dot ● |
Place the five movable pieces in those relative positions. The path rises in a staircase, reaches the upper-right dot, then travels down the right-hand column:
R3C1 → R3C2 ↑ R2C2 → R2C3 ↑ R1C3
→ R1C4● ↓ R2C4 ↓ R3C4●
The five pieces are the bends at R3C2, R2C2, R2C3, R1C3, plus the vertical track at R2C4. Keep avoiding Torment as you move the pieces.
The final barrier
Choose the answer meaning:
She doesn’t want her father’s efforts to go to waste.
Do not substitute the earlier idea about being unable to tell her father that she loves pastry, or the comparison with her grandmother. The final key appears after the correct barrier answer.
Finish the healing outside the palace
- Make the fondant in the atelier and add the magic.
- Contact Brilliance Consulting.
- Through Raphael, leave the cake and letter on Estelle’s desk.
- Continue the scene after she eats it; Orio confirms that Regret has disappeared.
Leaving the Heart Palace alone is not the end of the healing sequence. For the separate theatre relationship bug, use Estelle’s second-heart guide.
